Janet Marie Foster

Janet  Marie  Foster, age 90, of Adrian, MI, passed away, July 31, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was born May 2, 1936, Adrian, MI, the daughter of Hubert & Mildred (Hall) Estes.   Janet was retired from Simplex Industries in Adrian where she worked for over 20 years.  In her earlier years she worked at Stubnitz-Greene.  As a mother, she was the heart of our family.  She taught by example-showing us the value of hard work , honesty, and resilience.  Through every season of life, she celebrated joys, carried us through our sorrows, and believed in us even whe we doubted ourselves.  Her greatest pride was her family, and the love she gave will continue to shape generations to come.  She found happiness in life's simple blessings: time spent with those she loved, sharing stories and creating memories that will forever remain in our hearts.  She was a creative and artistic soul who found beauty in the world around her, and she cherished the quiet joy of getting lost in a good book.  Her laughter was contagious, her wisdom comforting, and her gentle spirit a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her.  Janet loved traveling to Alabama to visit with family.  She had a talent of making delicious sugar cookies & molasses cookies.  Janet is survived by children, Michael (Beatrice) Prock, Deborah Colburn and William (Stephanie) Pope; her grandchildren, Todd Prock, Sharina Prock, Destiny Smith, Christina Smith, Daniel Smith, Jennifer Colburn, Matthew Colburn, Heather Nipper, Jenny Gann, Jamie Sutton, Jennifer Tudor and Jessie Rea; thirty five great grandchildren; and many great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert & Mildred Estes; one son, Daniel Smith; one daughter, Tammy Colburn; two sisters, Betty Wood and Eleanor Mackey; and three brothers: Hubert Jr., Howard, and George Estes.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian, MI.  Viewing & Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
