Hermon Ely Murphy

Hermon Ely Murphy age 88, of Tecumseh, MI passed away May 24, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was born November 13, 1933 in Clayton, Michigan the son of Jasper and Elsie (Manley) Murphy. On November 3, 1956 he married Lila June in Adrian, MI and she preceded him in death 2007. He attended Clayton Schools in Clayton, Michigan. After school he went into the United States Army 1953 - 1955. He worked and retired from the Tecumseh Products after over 30 years. In his free time he loved fishing, traveling, gardening, McDonald's Breakfast with friends but most of all spending time with family and friends. Hermon is survived by his children, Robert E (Kathleen) Murphy, Susan (Phillip) Arnold and Brenda (Bryon) Griswold; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila; parents, Jasper and Elsie Murphy; 3 grandchildren, Jacquelyn,  Dylan and Steven Murphy; 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home Tecumseh with Pastor Kyle Boils officiating.  Entombment will immediately follow at Brookside Cemetery Mausoleum, with Military Honors conducted by the Tecumseh American Legion #34 and the Tecumseh V.F.W. #4187.  Visitation will be Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
