Darlene Arletta Marvin

Darlene Arletta Marvin, passed away on August 2, 2026.  Darlene was born on April 5, 1931 in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Dorothy and Ola Ridenour.  She attended White Pigeon schools, graduating in 1949. Darlene resided in a private residence, while attending International Business school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She Graduated with high honors in 1952.  Darlene married James W. Schneider on December 29, 1953, when he returned from the Korean war. Darlene and James had seven children: Steven LeRoy, Douglas Williams, Stuart James, Barbara Ann, Judy Marie, Russell Jay, and Wesley Jon. Her husband James died suddenly on October 17, 1980 he was 50 years old. Steven passed away August 20, 2025.  Darlene remarried on April 6, 1991 to Harold H. Marvin Sr., gaining 8 step-children: Harold Joe, Dale, Dean, Diane, Michael, Patty, Marsha, and Doris. Harold passed away on January 9, 2026, Harold Joe passed awayon  April 16, 2026.  Darlene held various jobs, including waitressing, bartending, and cake decorating. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, plastic crafts, playing cards, bowling, golfing, and spending her winters in Wimauma, Florida.  Darlene was very social, had many friends, and always had a smile on her face.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 7, 2026, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating.  Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian, MI.  Viewing & Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.  A special thanks to the caring and loving staff at Hampton Manor, Adrian.
