Enrique F. "Gordo" Salazar, Jr.

Enrique F. "Gordo" Salazar, Jr. age 44, of Adrian, MI, passed away, July 4, 2018.  He was born November 2, 1973, in Adrian, MI, the son of Enrique Sr. & Elvira (Gonzalez) Salazar.  He was an Adrian High School graduate, Class of 1992. He was a proud member of the 1991 AHS Football Team that won the regional title. Enrique was also an all SEC Wrestling Champ during his high school years. Enrique worked in manufacturing for many years. He was and assistant football coach at Drager Middle School. Enrique enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and inviting them over for cookouts. Although he didn't have any children of his own, he played the role as a father to most of his nieces and nephews. Enrique spent his free time attending his nieces and nephews school activities.  His presence at Fricker's will be missed by their staff, friends, family and strangers. He was a sports enthusiast and a diehard fan of the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons.  Gordo's laugh, energy and carefree spirit will be missed by many. He will always be in our hearts and memories forever.  He is survived by his mother, Elvira Salazar, his siblings, Lupe Salazar Hamden, Rebecca Salazar Pabolo, Jacob Salazar and Moises (Josephine) Salazar, his nieces and nephews, Isabell Salazar, Michael Hamden, Jr., Carlito Hamden, Annabell Salazar, Mercedez Salazar, Alexandrea Salazar, Mya Salazar, Moises Salazar, Jr., Moriah Salazar, great nephews, Clint Bacon, Jr. and Michael Anthony Hamden and great niece, Zaylia Sanchez.  He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique Salazar, Sr.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 14, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI. Visitation will be on Friday, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM & 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J.
