Edith L. Harris, 81, of Jackson, died August 7, 2018, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, MI. She was born March 19, 1937, in Bolt, WV to Gaden and Reva (Moore) Cochrane. Edie was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving for her country being one of her proudest achievements. She moved to Michigan in 1959 and spent many years as a switchboard operator and office assistant at Double A Products in Manchester and Bank of Lenawee in Adrian. She also spent 15+ years working and volunteering at the Adrian Church of God as she raised her two sons. Edie was a devoted Christian who enjoyed traveling, politics, and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her son Thomas (Melissa) Harris of Jackson, MI; her sister Jacqueline (Paul) Sauls of Crab Orchard, WV; her aunt Marjorie (Preston) White of Lake Worth, FL; her five grandchildren Codi Warner of Bristol, TN, Dreama (Lee) Hicks of Dyersburg, TN, Justin Harris, Connor Blake, and Emily Blake of Jackson, MI; and three great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by parents; her son Alan Warner in 2016; as well as two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service for Edie will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Hillsdale City Church in Hillsdale, with Pastor Bob Finegan officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Memorial contributions in honor of Edie can be made to Hillsdale City Church or the Adrian Church of God.
