Arthur E. "Spike" Jackson of Palmyra, died January 11, 2019. He was born April 1, 1923 in Grosse Pointe Park, MI the son of Frederick and Ethyln (Moore) Jackson. On January 11, 1947, he married Vivian May Byrd (Phillips) in Blissfield, MI and she preceded him in death in March 14, 2004. Spike was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corps. He was the owner and operator of Spike's Auction, Tecumseh. Spike is survived by his children; Inez (Eldon) Clingaman, Nina (Stanley) Beckey, Thomas L. Jackson, and Michael (Dee) Jackson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles A. Jackson and Richard E. Jackson. In addition to his wife Vivian, he was preceded in death by his son, David Byrd, brother, Fred. H. Jackson, and grandson, Robert Beckey. A memorial service, conducted by Reverend Douglas Holmes, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 26th, at the Palmyra Community Presbyterian Church, located at 6370 Palmyra Road, Palmyra, Michigan 49286. Burial will follow at the Palmyra Cemetery. A dinner will then be served at the Palmyra Community Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or the Lenawee Humane Society.
