Virgie "Sissy" Ward

Virgie “Sissy” Ward, age 70 of Brighton, MI, formally of Coldwater, MI, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at Trinity Health in Ypsilanti, MI, with her family by her side. Virgie was born on December 26, 1952 in Coldwater, Michigan to Victor and Ruth (Lyon) Ward.  She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1971.  Virgie had a very successful career with Michigan Livestock/Southern States for 25 plus years, before deciding to move back to Michigan to care for her mother. She was later employed with Cobra/Infinisource for 10 plus years.   Virgie truly lived her life for her family and was passionate about the health and well-being of all of her “Children” including her beloved dogs (Aspen, Barkley, Casey, Emmy, and Shelby.)   Virgie is survived by her brothers Terry Ward of Brighton, MI. Tom (Linda) Ward of Saline MI, and Jeff Ward of Coldwater, MI.   Virgie never had children of her own, but she treated all of her nieces and nephews as her own; Chad (Natasha) Ward of Tecumseh, MI, Nicole Demuyt of Armada, MI, Libbie Ward of Royal Oak, MI, Linsey Ward of Las Vegas, NV, Jessica (Brandon) Hill of Mason, MI, Chelsea Ward of Fishers, IN, Meredith Ward of Charlotte, NC, Justin Ward of Grass Lake, MI, Aaron Ward of Hamburg, MI, Joshua Ward of Niles, MI, Anna Ward of Edwardsburg, IN, Jake Ward of Coldwater, MI., and Abby Ward of Coldwater, MI; and many beloved Great and Great-Great nieces and nephews.  Trent, Troy and Mckensie, Taryn and Austin, Wyatt, Kylie, Rhianna, Dawson, Davis, Quinton, Bentley, Cruz, Jolene, Zoe, Emmett, Valerie, Kyler, Jesse, Knox, Tucker, and Madilynn.  Virgie was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Ruth Ward, one brother, Dean Ward; great niece, Gabrielle Demuyt; sister in law, Cathy Ward; and nephew Todd Ward.  Funeral Services are scheduled to take place Saturday August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lockwood Community Church, 202 E.
