Shirley Briskey

Shirley Briskey, 79, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on June 9, 2021 in Adrian, Michigan.   A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 4:00 pm at 400 College Ave., Adrian, Michigan. Interment will be at Medina Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Purse Funeral Home. Shirley was born in Liberty Center, Michigan to Leslie Shaver and Mary (Jeffrey) Shaver on September 22, 1941. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Shaver, and Paul Briskey, her former husband and friend. Shirley is survived by her children Christina (Steve) Wilden, Robert (Kim) Briskey, Richard Briskey, Harry (Amy) Briskey; Grandchildren Jeremiah (Robyn) Wyse, Joshua Wyse, Devyn (Samantha) Briskey, Kayla Briskey, Joseph Briskey, Brayden Briskey, and several step-grandchildren. Great-grandchildren Aubrii and Jace Briskey, as well as several step great-grandchildren. She made friends wherever she went, and was loved by many. Though not by blood were her chosen family Erica, Misty, Sandy, Dora, Steve and Barb Anson, her drivers, Scott and Tom, and the Bench Bunch at Riverview Terrace. The family wishes to thank all of the folks who worked so hard to ensure she was safe, able to get to dialysis, and able to live independently. This includes the staff at Riverside Terrace, Region 2 Area Agency on Aging, Fresenius Dialysis Center, those who transported her, brought her meals, the ER staff at Hickman Hospital and Hospice of Lenawee, who provided loving care in her final days.
