Robert G. Ward

ROBERT G. WARD, age 97, of Adrian, passed away November 30, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1923 in Huntdale, NC, the son of George and Minnie (Bryant) Ward. On June 7, 1948, he married Lucy Hurt in Washington County, TN. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2003. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gardening.  Bob is survived by his daughter, LaVerne (Victor) Guzman of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jim) Larcom of Tecumseh; Anthony Guzman of Tecumseh, Michelle (Rick) Merrill of Monroe, and Michael (Lorenna) Guzman of Adrian; 10 great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Fidel Guzman of Adrian. In addition to his parents, and wife Lucy, Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Guzman and four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with David Peña officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Visitation will also take place on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 11:00 a.m until time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
