Richard A. Nighswander

Richard A. Nighswander, age 73, passed away April 10, 2021. Richard was born September 28, 1947 in Tecumseh, Michigan the son of Gilbert and Grace (Harvey) Nighswander.  He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School and also received an associate degree from RETS Electronics School in Detroit.  He served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabees in Vietnam.   He worked for the Budd Company in Clinton and retired from Curly's Machine Shop as a truck driver. Richard is survived by his siblings, Nancy (Ernest) Mercer of Lapeer, Milton James (Barbara) Nighswander of Luzerne; nieces, Tammy (Steve) Anderson, Beverly (Craig) Simdon and Peggy Price; nephew, Andrew (Samandra) Nighswander and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews, Michael Nighswander and Tim Marston. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, April 15,  at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with family officiating.   Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.  Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 A. M. preceding the funeral service.
