Myrna K. (Johnston) Jewell

MYRNA K. JEWELL, age 83 of Brooklyn passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at her son’s home in Addison, Michigan. She was born on August 4, 1940, in Manistique, Michigan, to Eugene and Marvel Johnston. Myrna lived her early life in the Upper Peninsula, graduating from Manistique High School before moving to Plymouth, Michigan where she met her husband. She married Stephen G. Jewell on February 6, 1960, in Manistique. They moved to the Addison area in 1971 where she attended Jackson Community College, obtaining her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) License. Myrna spent her nursing career at Provincial House Nursing Home in Adrian, MI, caring for each patient with love, grace and respect! She was a member of St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church at Manitou Beach. She loved her church family and was blessed having them in her life! Myrna was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She truly loved from her heart and touched her family with God’s grace! Surviving is one daughter, Robin Marcum of Brooklyn, two sons, Stephen K. (Shannen) Jewell of Addison, Kevin E. (Beth) Jewell of Parma, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two brothers, Pike Johnston of Manistique, and Glenn (Carolyn) Johnston of Escanaba. Myrna will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Escanaba, Michigan at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church, 450 Manitou Rd, Manitou Beach, MI 49253.
