Joanne M. (Jarrett) Shandley

Joanne M. Shandley, age 85, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord April 25, 2021.  Joanne was born September 12, 1935 in Adrian, Michigan the daughter of Jesse and Ellen Jarrett.  In 1952, she graduated from Adrian High School.  On July 12, 1952 she married James Shandley.  After marriage, she returned to nursing school in Ann Arbor, becoming a LPN.  For over 30 years she worked and retired from Bixby Hospital. Joanne loved to quilt, cook and travel with her husband, Jim.  She was a good mom and grandma and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Joanne is survived by her children,  Pam (Steve) Ruhl, Julie Wetherby and Todd(Pam) Shandley; granddaughters, Liz (Jarid) Hicks and Grace (Jon) Chandler; grandsons, Michael (Jenna) Shandley and Wesley Wetherby; great granddaughters, Kylie and Kassidy; grandsons, Cody and Hayden and brother in law, Tom Lennard. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; 3 brothers; 4 sisters and a grandson, Ryan McPherson. A memorial service will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Drew Woods officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P. M., one hour preceding the service.  Graveside services will follow at Raisin Valley Friends Cemetery, M-52, Adrian.
