Christopher Eckstein Obituary

Christopher Douglas Eckstein

Born on April 7, 1993

On July 4, 2023 the world lost a young soul that by all accounts was quietly giving of himself to all those family and friends alike and we lost our only son. Chris was a journeyman electrician who worked out of the IBEW local 58 for Conti Corporation at various locations in metro Detroit. His love for his work kept him constantly looking to improve and expand his horizons and opportunities, but on the personal side, there was more than a passion for all things outdoors, not the least of them camping, motorsports, snowboarding, and just a walk through the woods. Somehow in spite of all the activities he always found time for his family and friends, especially for his mom (Diane) and dad (Bob) sister (Erika) brother in-law (Hans) and nephew (Damien). He was a person that could be counted on to honor commitments and give from his heart right up until the end, which he did as an organ donor with Gift of Life, providing second chances to multiple recipients. This truly is a legacy that one is to be proud of, and like those who knew Chris well, would be the final compliment to his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fr. Solanus Casey, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mount Elliott Street Detroit, MI 48207  Phone: 313-579-2100 Ext. 1185   Arrangements with J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home. wwwPurseFuneralHome.com
