David B. "Cupcake" Kopkau

Age 55, of Sand Lake, passed away, October 5, 2009. He was born September 5, 1954, in Charlevoix, MI, the son Dale & Carla(Shepard) Bolser. David served on the Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department and was a Junior Govenor of the Moose Lodge in Brooklyn, MI. He served his country in the U.S. Army. David is survived by his daughter, Rishel Bolser and son in law Donald E. Bolser of Toledo, his son, Paul Kopkau of New York, his grandchildren, Savanah, Cody and Sadie, his parents, Dale & Carla Bolser of East Jordan, one brother, Bryan (Shelly) Bolser of East Jordan, one sister, Peggy Bolser of Westland and his former wife of 24 years, Deborah Soldner of Tipton.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Vail & Clarabell Shepard and best friend, Gary "Butch" Hull.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2009, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Onsted American Legion & the U.S. Army Reserve Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Brooklyn Moose Lodge located behind the Twin Towers in the Irish Hills.
