Shirley Gamm Mroz

Age 87, currently of Adrian, Michigan, died on October 21, 2009 at her home. Shirley was born in Sheffield, Iowa, lived for many years in the Washington, D.C. area, Naples, Florida, as well as other areas of the nation. After graduating from Upper Iowa University School of Music, she was a school teacher in Iowa, worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C., and after her marriage to Vince Mroz in 1945, became a homemaker. Vince proceeded her in death in July, 2008. She is survived by daughter Barbara Bolling (Raleigh), son Gregory Mroz (Gail), 4 grandchildren; Kara Bolling Curtis, David Mroz (Sara) , Julie Mroz Kirk (Andy) , Lauren Mroz ,and 2 great grandchildren, Courtney Curtis and Kyle Curtis. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009, from 2pm until 3pm at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI. A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice,900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI. Donation envelopes will be avialble at the service.
