Yvon "Frenchie" Leon Turgeon

Yvon Leon Turgeon, 81, of Onsted passed away on Nov. 17, 2015.  Yvon was born in Quebec on Sept. 14, 1934. He was first married to Denise Poirier, and for the last 39 years was married to and is survived by Rosemary L. Turgeon.  Yvon retired from Rouge Steel at the age of 65 as a millwright and enjoyed his retirement at his home on Sand Lake.  Yvon is also survived by a daughter, Cindy Turgeon Graham; and stepchildren, Sally Shanks, Evan Harper, Gary Harper and Wade Harper; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Claude Turgeon, Gilles Turgeon, Gerard Turgeon, Hugette Turgeon, Denise Brispon, Paulene Poirier and Paulette Turgeon; and by his constant canine companion Pixie.  Yvon was preceded in death by his father, Romeo Turgeon; his mother, Florence Turgeon; and his sons, Robert and Richard Turgeon.  A graveside memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at St. Joseph's Shrine in the Irish Hills. The Rev. David Kennedy will officiate.
