William Myles, age 92, of Onsted, MI, passed away, Monday June, 26, 2017, at home.  He was born on November 10th, 1924 to William and Icie (Duncan) Miles in Landisburg, West Virginia.  On October 14th, 1950 Bill married Eloise Ramsey in West Virginia.  Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Sanders, a destroyer and escort ship that protected carriers, supply ships, and hunted enemy submarines in the Pacific during WWII. He had many memories of his time in the South Pacific during the war.  In early 1946 after his service in the Navy, Bill hitchhiked from San Francisco across the United States to back home in West Virginia where he soon joined a crew on a Merchant Ship in Baltimore and made numerous trips to South America.  Later on he worked in the coal mines for some time, before eventually coming to Michigan in the early 50's where he began employment at Tecumseh Products for nearly 40 years.  During a layoff he would work as a crew member on cargo ships in the Great Lakes.  One of Bill's pastime's was bowling, he usually carried a very high average and was bowling as much as 6 nights a week at one point. Along with bowling, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, working on cars, fixing all kinds of things, and playing the guitar. One of his favorite guitar players was Doc Watson. Bill will always be remembered as a hard worker with a great work ethic and having a good sense of humor to go along with it.   Along with his wife Eloise, Bill is survived by his daughters Brenda (Fred) Wilkins of Onsted, Sharon (Bob) Gillow of Brooklyn, and sons Don Myles and Stan Myles of Onsted.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Pam Myles.  Burial will take place in Maple Shade Cemetery in Onsted with arrangements from J.
