Salome Herrera

Salome "Sal" Herrera, a longtime resident of Tecumseh, Michigan, died on August 23, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.  Sal was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1928 to Samuel and Lina Herrera. He entered the US Army in 1948 and fought in the Korean War. He retired from the Tecumseh Products after 37 years. He married Angelina "Angie" Pizana in 1952 and they raised four daughters.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie; parents Samuel and Lina; four brothers Arturo, Anastacio, Samuel, Jr., Oscar and three sisters Consuelo, Esperanza, and Maria Nieves.  He is survived by his daughters Stella (CP); Consuelo "Conky" (Steve); Lina (Steve) and April; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Sal was one of the kindest and most charitable people you could ever meet. Not only did he open his heart and home to many he also taught others to play the guitar, carpentry skills, mechanical skills, etc. Most of all he taught his daughters how to love, give and pray.  He will be missed by many.   A Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:00 P. M. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.  Visitation will be 4-8 pm Friday, August 25. 2017 at J.
