Robert J. Ostrander, age 88, of Adrian, MI, passed away July 19, 2017,at Provincial House with his family. He was born August 26, 1928, in Adrian, MI, the son of Lloyd & Edith (Beaubien) Ostrander. He married Nerissa Strand on July 4, 1948, she preceded him in death. He then married Lois Elaine Schmitz, she survives. Bob retired from American Chain & Cable after 45 years of service. He also worked for Hills Automotive & Mann Buick. Bob donated 236 pints of blood for the American Red Cross during his lifetime. He was a lifetime member of the Adrian Moose where he worked at Bingo and their Fish Fry's and the Annual Road Clean Up. Bob rang the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas time for many years. Bob is survived by his wife, Lois Elaine Ostrander, his children, Roxie (Bill) Osburn, Jr., Jeane Sears, Vickie (Mark) Jedele, Robert (Jana) Ostrander, Dave Ostrander and Doug (Cheryl) Ostrander, eight grandchildren, Leslie (Brent) McDonald, Lisa Osburn, Jason (Sheila) Sears, Andrea (Jacob) Ost, Erin Sears, Jaclyn (Josh) Puckett, Max Jedele and Jaidan Hilton, twelve great grandchildren, three sisters, Velma Gonzalez, Dorothy Wagner and Joanna Gaydosh and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son in law, Rod Sears, great grandson, Kyle Ost, seven brothers, Donald, Leonard, Kenneth, Harold, Leslie, Richard and Gilbert and two sisters, Doris and Evaline. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian, MI. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and also on Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the J.
