Richard and I worked VERY closely together when we both worked for ACCO in Adrian, MI. We both helped to organize, coordinate, and then complete the final engineering designs and construction of their Big New State Of The Art World Headquarters For Management, Engineering, R&D and Test laboratory in Farmington Hills, MI. We then took on the gigantic task of moving the entire staff members, office, equipment, and machinery to their new building in under two weeks time. The original estimates for the full move was six weeks, that's how well we worked together, and how well he worked with everyone.
He was my mentor, a very good man and fine gentleman. We did things together that others thought were impossible, because HE could do the impossible, and then he inspired others and lifted them up to do the same.
We both then worked very closely together at ACCO and Trident Automotive, before it was sold and it became DURA Automotive, performing Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing miracles for them.
Sadly, I lost touch with him and many other very close friends and family after the sale to DURA when the company was split up.
I have missed working alongside him, his close friendship, and his invaluable mentorship ever since. He was a very good man, he helped me through some very tough times, and I will miss him dearly.
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family and many friends on their loss.
But that does not seem to be enough, not nearly enough to offer for the loss of such a fine man and good friend. He will leave a very big hole in my heart that can never be mended by words alone. I only wish that I could have been there personally to offer my condolences to his family and many friends at their time of loss.
He will be dearly missed.
With my deepest respect, James H Crabary
