Rex W. Ryan

Rex W. Ryan, age 72, of Hudson, MI, passed away October 15, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 16, 1943, in Adrian, MI, the son of Rial & Grace (Bates) Ryan. He married Nancy (Maurer) Ryan on May 26, 1973, she survives. Rex was a graduate of Onsted High School, Class of 1961.  Rex was an avid farmer, which was his passion in life, milking cows & crop farming. He worked at Roto Plastics after 18 years and then to work at his son in law's farm, Hartland Farms, retiring from there after 19 years, in 2008.  Rex loved watching tractor pulls, Detroit Tiger games and Michigan State Spartans football. Rex will always be remember by his unique funny laugh.  In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his sister, Bonnie Ryan Myers, five children, Scott (Kristy) Myers, Tracey (Brad) Hart, Daniel (Judy) Myers, Dawn (Willie) Gutting and Tom Ryan, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one grandson.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2016, J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in East Rome Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 1:30 PM until the time of service at the J.
