To the family of Miss Peg. You have my prayers as you celebrate a wonderful servant of the Lord. After I surrendered to the ministry and started serving the Lord in my home state of Michigan, Miss Peg consistently showed me the same respect she showered on other ministers with many more years of service and greater wisdom. My gratitude for Miss Peg's respect caused me to grow in confidence that I could become an effective pastor. Thank you for sharing Miss Peg with the entire convention. Though my previous obligations will prevent me from joining you on Friday night and Saturday, my prayers and thoughts will be with you. Dr. Tony Lynn, State Director of Missions, Baptist State Convention of Michigan

In the first church I served as pastor, Emmanuel Baptist in Belleville, Peg Fogg was the music director and even more important to me- mentor and friend to this young man needing to learn the ropes of church servant-leadership. She was patient and kind in dealing with my learning curve. She had a wonderful family, and helped me to appreciate her eccentric but fine partner-husband, SD. Many times I visited in her home, and also at the Baptist State Convention where she worked. Our connection was about 30 years ago, but I still remember this dear lady. Her smile was quick and wit sharp. She would rhythmically tap her foot as she led the music. Many times she would roll her eyes and smile when SD would say something, and I would find comfort and patience from the twinkle in her eye. One time she told me, with her characteristically direct manner, "David, you're just going to have to toughen up a little!" She was great! She loved others, loved her Lord, and with that combination she made a true difference in this world. Friends and family have been wonderfully gifted to have known this dear lady. My prayers are with you at this time.
