Pedro R. "Pete" Diaz, Sr.

Pedro R. "Pete" Diaz, Sr., age 67, of Adrian, MI, passed away, April 13, 2018, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born March 26, 1951 in Adrian, MI, the son of Pablo & Ignacia (Rocha) Diaz. On August 17, 1971, he married Gloria Torres, she survives.  Pete retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service. He was very active with the UAW Local 892 retirees. Pete was well known for singing Wasted Days & Wasted Nights at the dances he attended. Then in 2006, he became a Christian and continued to sing for The Lord. Pete will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.  In addition to his wife Gloria Diaz, he is survived by his children, Jeff P. Diaz, Sr., Teresa M. Diaz (Jeremy Vasquez) and Pedro "Pete" (Tamara) Diaz, Jr., his grandchildren, Johnny J. Torres, Arturo Torres, Nickolas Fredricks, Julian Torres, Simone Burciaga, Ariel Diaz, Jeffrey Diaz, Jr., Santana Diaz, Santiago (Bayleigh) Garcia, Valencia Velazquez, Anastacia Velazquez, Justin Cousino, nine great grandchildren, brother, Johnny Diaz and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his son, Louis "Louie" Torres, parents, Pablo & Ignacia Diaz sister, Jesusa "Susie" Rocha Diaz, half brother, Juan "John" Rodela, stepbrother, Domingo Sanchez, stepmother, Lala Diaz and great grandson, Santiago Garcia, Jr.  Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM Friday April 20, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Bart Leu officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Friday April 20, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N.
