Mary A. "Mary Ann" Howay

Mary A. Howay, “Mary Ann” died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Superior Woods Healthcare Center in Ypsilanti, MI at the age of 88.  She was born July 2, 1929 in Forest Twp, Missaukee County, Michigan to Calvin and Lillian Biddle.  She grew up in the Grand Blanc/Flint area graduating from Grand Blanc High School 10th in her class of 1947.  She was married January 19, 1952 to Bryan Jack Howay (deceased).  She began her career as a switchboard operator at the phone company and moved to Lansing to work for Oldsmobile, retiring after 33 years in telecommunications.  Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her cats, playing cards, lunching with friends and family, listening and singing to Big Band music, reading, and playing the piano.  She was a deeply loving and friendly woman who was a good listener.  Even after her stroke, unable to talk she was well liked and loved giving everyone hugs.  She is survived by her son Bryan Howay, daughter-in-law Debbie Howay, step-son Jack Howay, step-grandchildren - Carrie Zuhlke and Jack Allen Howay, step-great-grandchildren – Dakota and Reese Zuhlke, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Gereva Tremblay and brother Victor Biddle.  A Memorial Mass will be 12:00 P. M. (noon) Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 506 N. Union St., Tecumseh, Mi 49286 with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant.  Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M., one hour preceding the service.  Donations can be made to Lenawee Humane Society or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  Condolences to the family may be made  online at www.pursefuneralhome.com,
