Marjorie Almina (Keller) Hunt

Marjorie Almina Hunt, age 93, formerly of Tecumseh, MI, and Apache Junction, AZ died April 27, 2016 in Superior Township.   She was born June 1, 1922 in Newfane, NY, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Peters) Keller.  Almina graduated from Newfane High School in 1939 and in 1941 moved to Clinton, MI where she met Robert "Bob" Hunt.  They were married in Buffalo, NY on February 1, 1942 and were long time residents of Lenawee County, residing in Clinton, Onsted, and Tecumseh.  Upon their retirement in 1978, they moved to Apache Junction, AZ where they resided for 23 years before moving back to Michigan in 2001. Almina was a member of Eastern Star serving in many offices including Worthy Matron of Cambridge Chapter, Onsted,  a life member of the Tecumseh Chapter, past president of the Lenawee-Monroe Association Eastern Star, and member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Hudson.  She was also a past president of the VFW Auxiliary in Clinton.  Almina was a member and active participant of Community Christian Church in  Apache Junction, AZ and First Christian Church in Ypsilanti.  She was the bookkeeper at the Tecumseh Herald for 19 years before retiring to Arizona.  She loved music, was a talented vocalist and creative artist and crafter. Almina was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Clarence and Alice Keller; sister, Violet Jackson and great grandson, Adrian Aicher.  She is survived by her children, Roberta "Bobbie" Anderson (Charles) of Superior Township, MI,  Dr. Howard Hunt (Linda) of of Fairfield, IA, Shirley Wolf (Jim) of Plymouth, OH, and Cortland Hunt (Brenda) of Hutto, TX; grandchildren, Col. Dagvin (Elizabeth) Anderson  of Albuquerque, NM, Inger Anderson (Daniel) of Saline, MI, Heather Aicher of Boise, ID, Jennifer (Alex) Kallio of Denton, NE, Melanie (Mike) Coleman of Gallion, OH, Nicole Hunt of Lake Elisnore, CA and Mary Hunt of Austin, TX; great grandchildren, Hala and Lilja Anderson, Logan Aicher, Maya, Elayna and Maggie Kallio, Kayleigh and Brandon Mellas, Austin Bruton and Olivia and Peter Sandford. Visitation will be held  3:00 - 5:00 P. M. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.  Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M.  Monday, May 2, 2016 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. John Hayden officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Clinton, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Almina's name to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
