Lynwood Rowe Mills, age 82, of Madison Twp., MI, passed away March 6, 2017, at Brookdale of Adrian. He was born September 28, 1934, in Fairfield Twp., MI, the son of Harley & Rose Mary (Dirkman) Mills. On December 1, 1957, he married Lois Jacob in Ogden Twp., MI. She survives. Lynwood served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked at American Chain & Cable retiring after 30 plus years. He also farmed in Ogden Township and sold Knapp Shoes. Lynwood was an avid camper and belonged to the Good Sam Club and the NCHA. Lynwood wintered in Peoria, AZ for 18 years following his retirement. In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by his four sons, Keith (Loretta) Mills, Robert (Carolyn) Mills, Ron (Darlene) Mills and Bruce Mills, his grandchildren, Amber Mills, Andrew (Tracie) Mills, Beth (Scott) Eisemann, Wesley Mills and Luke Mills and his sister, Alice Dewey, sister in law, Florence Woller and a great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Lee Mills, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Keith Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ogden Township Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
