Kevin S. Barrett, Sr., age 56, of Deerfield, formerly of Britton, passed away February 5, 2017. He was born December 21, 1960 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Jack and W. Jean (Daykin) Barrett. On July 21, 1979 he married Kendra J. Pickford in Tecumseh, MI. She survives. Kevin was a graduate of Britton-Macon High School, Class of 1979. He was employed with Diesel Fuel Systems/Cummins of Michigan, Blissfield MI. Kevin was member of First Baptist Church of Tecumseh where he served as a trustee. He was very active in 4-H for over forty years. Kevin was also a Board Member of Britton-Macon Schools now known as Britton-Deerfield Schools. In addition to his wife, Kendra, Kevin is survived by his children, Kimberly (David) Maddox of Kentucky, Kevin (Dawn) Barrett II of Tecumseh, Kristin (Scott) Grodi of Willis, and Kendall (Angel) Barrett of Britton; 16 grandchildren, Kayleigh, Andrea, Allie, Cole, Clint, Steven, Camden, Dempsey, Natalie, Virginia, Kendall II, Mason, Cheyenne, Alexander, Mackenzie, and Ashlyn; father, Jack Barrett of Britton; sister, Karen (John) DeCoster of Britton; brothers and sister-in-laws, several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dr. Mike (Cheryl) Jajuga of Addison. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean and grandparents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh with Rev. Alan Maki officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday February 8, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lenawee County Junior Livestock Association.
