John R. Kania

John R. Kania, age 71, of Brooklyn, MI, passed away, August 27, 2017, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  He was born December 11, 1945, in Hamtramck, MI, the son of Leo & Genevieve (Solocinski) Kania.  John served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps between 1965 - 1968, during the Vietnam Era.  Due to his artistic skills, John drew the maps for the Marines.  He worked as a graphic artist for Ford Motor Company for thirty years.  John is survived by his wife, Brenda Brighton-Kania, his sister, Patricia (Garnett) Hart, his stepchildren, Robert Brighton, Timothy Poling and Amanda Poling.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph Kania and dear nephew, Scott Hart.  According to his wishes, cremation will take place.  His family will honor his memory at a later date.  Condolences may be offered to the family online at: www.PurseFuneralHome.com
