Hal Ira Van Wagner

Hal Ira Van Wagner, age 88, of Tecumseh, passed away August 16, 2017.  Hal was born January 28, 1929 in Morenci, MI the son of Ira and Edith (Connin) Van Wagner.  On January 10, 1954 he married Doris Fletcher and she preceded him in death  November 9, 2010.  He graduated from Morenci High School and Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Industrial Education.  In 1991 he retired from Ida High School after many years of service.  He served his country in the Korean War as a member of the United States Army and was a volunteer for 60 years at the America  Legion.  After retirement he enjoyed camping, spending winters in Florida and family and friends.  He is survived by a son, Mark (Debbie) Van Wagner of Dollar Bay, MI; two daughters, Lynda (Jim) Schumacher of Brooklyn, MI and Kelly (Ryan) Roesler of Tecumseh, MI; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  In addition to his wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Seth Farmer and five siblings,  Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.  Military honors will be performed by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team and the Tecumseh American Legion.  Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 P. M.
