Guadalupe "Lupe" Flores

Guadalupe  "Lupe"  Flores, age 65, of Adrian, MI, passed away, March 21, 2015, at University Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born March 5, 1950 to Federico & Mary (Salazar) Flores.  Lupe graduated from Adrian High School, Class of 1968.  He attended Western Michigan University and was a member of the SAE Fraternity, being the first Mexican-American to be accepted.  After graduation he moved to New York City and worked with Victor Skrebrenski, the famous photographer for Estee Lauder.  Several years later he moved to Key West, FL, where he owned & operated two restaurants for eight years.  Then he moved to Connecticut where he owned three restaurants and managed two in Greenwich until moving back to Adrian in 2008, working for his nephew as a consultant at All Around Construction.  Lupe is survived by parents, his sister, Frances Flores Hunter, his brother, Christopher (Pam) Flores, three nephews, Austin Flores, Brian (Jennifer) Hunter & Jeff (Wendy) Hunter, two nieces, Kimberly Hunter Jones and Alli Flores, nephew in law, Doug Jones and several great nieces, nephews, cousins. aunts & uncles and several very special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother in law, Allen Hunter. Memorial Services will be held 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2015, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Deacon Carlos Torres officiating.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynwood Manor in Adrian, MI.
