Eugene M. "Gene" Murphy

Eugene M. "Gene" Murphy, age 89, of Clinton, passed away October 3, 2017.  Gene was born May 29, 1928 in Tecumseh, Michigan the son of Walter and Gladys (Morrison) Murphy.  On December 5, 1953, he married Anna Mae Palmer in Manchester, MI and she preceded him in death May 29, 2013.    He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U. S. Army.  Gene worked for Atlas Feed and Grain, drove truck for John Marion, Inc. and retired  from Hardwoods of Michigan.  He was a life member of the Pieper Hull Sparks American Legion, Clinton and the 40 & 8 in Adrian.  Gene is survived by his son Walter "Jamie" Murphy of Clinton; two granddaughters, Kayla Murphy and Erin Murphy both of Clinton; brother, Forrest (Pat) Murphy and sister, Judi Murphy.  In addition to his wife, Anna, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Wallace.  Memorial services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, October 9, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Drex Morton officiating. Military honors performed by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team will follow.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 P. M. Sunday at the J.
