Estella Torres

Estella Torres, age 101, from Adrian, MI, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2016.  Estella lived a long and fruitful life and passed away surrounded by her loving family.   She was born on July 2, 1915 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Pablo Salas and Esther Gonzalez.  She was preceded in death by her husband Felipe Torres, and two daughters Rosa and Melody Torres.   Estella is survived by her children Jesse (Elvira) Torres of San Antonio, Texas; Joe (Eloisa) Ramirez of Jackson, MI;  Mary Mota of Adrian, MI;  Phillip  Torres of Adrian; Paul Torres  of Adrian; Pete (Vicky) Torres  of  Adrian; Estella Wimberly of Long Beach, CA;  Jim (Rosalee) Torres of Adrian; Joe Torres of San Fernando, CA; Margaret (Phillip) Hughes of Toledo, OH and Virginia "Kina" (Joe) Casarez of Immokalee, Fla. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great  grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister Natalia of San Antonio, Texas.  Estella was a loving Mother, grandmother,  great grandmother and great great  grandmother. She loved her family dearly and in turn she was loved by her many friends, relatives and neighbors. She leaves a great void in many lives.  She was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church.  Viewing will take place on Sunday October 23, 2016 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday October 24th at 10:30 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 305 Division St., Adrian, MI, with Fr. Tom Murphy presiding. There will also be a viewing at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park.  There will be a luncheon after the graveside service at the cemetery.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
