Douglas E. Daykin

Douglas E. Daykin, age 87, of Belleville, formerly of Britton, passed away April 5, 2017.  Douglas was born August 24, 1929 in Britton, Michigan the son of Leonard and Myrtle (Underwood) Daykin.  On April 3, 1954 he married Barbara Hall in Tecumseh.  He was a graduate of Britton High School.  Douglas worked for Tecumseh Products and when he  relocated to Florida he owned his own lawn service.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge.  Douglas is survived by his children, Mark (Lauren) Daykin, Candice Daykin and Christine Daykin; grandchildren, Amy, Terry Jr., Cyndi, Paris and Charlie and 13 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Terry and 3 sisters.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Alan Maki officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, April 10. 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date.  Condolences to the family may be made online at www.pursefneralhome.com.
