Doris E. (Prichard) Wimple

Mrs. Doris E. Wimple, 80 of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, formerly of Saline, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at her home. She was born January 15, 1936 in Macon, MI the daughter of the late Donald and Margarite Arnold Prichard. Doris worked as an elementary teacher for 3 years. She also was an artist, painter and sewer. Doris enjoyed growing and arranging flowers. She regularly attended bible studies, book clubs and art classes. Doris spent many years volunteering with various organizations. She was an active member of Kipling United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. Doris was a woman of faith who put her family and community first. She did her best to make a baby quilt for each great-grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Jane and Rhoba. Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Wimple; sons, Ken (Alice)Wimple of Michigan, Joe (Terrie) Wimple of Michigan, Brian Wimple of Michigan and Bruce Wimple of Fuquay-Varina; daughter, Carla (Johnnie) Paul of Lillington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie (Mary Jane)Prichard of Milan, MI, Frank (Ruth) Prichard of Florida and sister, Joyce Schraeder of Adrian, MI. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday October 15, 2016 at Kipling United Methodist Church with Rev. Melinda Ivey officiating. Additional services will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 17. 2016 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Melany Chalker officiating.  Burial will follow in Macon Cemetery, Macon, MI.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service Monday at J.
