Donald James Monnett

Donald James Monnett, age 84, of Adrian, MI, passed away, April 23, 2018.  He was born August 17, 1933, in Toledo, OH, the son of James & Marjorie (Grandstaff) Monnett.  Don was a graduate of Gesu Catholic School. On June 16, 1956, he married Patricia Donofrio, she preceded him in death on March 23,1998 after 42 years of marriage. Don served his country in the US Navy from 1952 - 1956. He worked at Craft Master as a Foreman until their closing. Don owned & operated Monnett's Market for several years.  He is survived by two daughters, Debi Gruszka (Tom Reynolds), Tammy Gullett, son, Deno Monnett, fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife Patricia Monnett, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Domschot, his parents and sister, Carol Madras.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 26, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, with Military Honors performed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
