Derek Marcelle Jones

Derek Marcelle Jones, age 51, of Adrian, MI, passed away, February 14, 2017.   Derek Marcelle Jones was born on January 4, 1966, to Jacqueline E. Jones. Derek was educated in the Jackson Public Schools and also attended Jackson Community College. Derek played basketball through high school and was an avid sports fan.  Derek leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Jacqueline Jones (Adrian, MI), brother, Aaron (Nikki) Jones (Adrian, MI), nephews, Dayshawn Jones (Kennesaw, GA), Ahsaan Jones, Jacoby Jones and Zane Jones (Adrian, MI), niece, Aniyah Jones (Adrian, MI), uncle, Robert (Arleaf) Watson (Jackson, MI), cousins: Jacqueline Jones-Harrell (Bessemer, AL), Erica (Chris) Bolling (Bessemer, AL),  Lynette (Lyle) Hampton (Jackson, MI), Bobby Watson (Jackson, MI), and Anthony Watson (Jackson, MI). Derek had a host of additional cousins and friends. Derek had a very special friend, Ray Stone (Clayton, MI) in addition to special friend, Donna Brown (Jackson, MI).   Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday February 25, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Aaron Benard officiating.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J.
