David Keith Stiles

David Keith Stiles, age 62, known to most as "Big Daddy" passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, March 5, 2018.  He was loved by many and made friends everywhere he went.  He loved camping, fishing, hunting, flying kites and doing things with his family.  He touched the hearts of many and treasured time spent with family and friends.  His greatest joy was being with his grandsons, taking them places and watching Haiden every chance he got.  David was very proud of his family and also known for his sense of humor.  Who knew he would have such a struggle.  In 1991, David was diagnosed with cancer and was given maybe 5 yrs., he fought for over 20 years.  He had over 9 rounds of chemo but was determined to win the battle.  Next was a stem cell transplant which got rid of the cancer but resulted in Graft vs Host disease that attacked his lungs and left them very damaged.  A broken back occurred from a freak accident.  On March 5, 2017 he received a double lung transplant.  This past year has been in and out of the hospital due to a compromised immune system and complications from surgery.  David is survived by his wife, Gail (Guisbert) Stiles; sons, David Stiles and Jeremy and Jody (Balogh) Stiles; grandsons, Austin (Balogh) and Haiden Stiles; parents, David and Ada (Bowen) Stiles; sisters, Cherie (Scott Wain), LeeAnn (Chuck Randolph), Cindy (Chuck Loomis); numerous nieces and nephews; great and great great nieces and nephews.  He asked in lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the charities he donated to.  The family would distribute them in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, local animal shelters, local fire departments and Lenawee County Neighbors of Hope.  Funeral Services will be 3:00 P. M. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Ridgeway Church of the Nazarene, 6886 Ridge Highway, Britton, MI with Pastor Kyle Boils officiating.  A dinner will follow the service.
