Cheryl "Kay" Sullivan (Hess) of Palmyra, MI passed suddenly from a heart attack in her home on April 19, 2017. She was 57 years old. Services will be held at Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI. Visitation will be held Sunday, 4/23/17, from 3-6pm and Monday from 2-4pm, for close family and friends, with the funeral following beginning at 4pm, with Pastors Mike and Renee Daniels (of Church Alive) officiating. The family will receive guests at 6347 Palmyra Rd in Palmyra, MI after the funeral service. Kay was born on 11/30/59 to Estel and Mary Hess(Lesher) both deceased. She graduated from Alpena College with a degree in Criminal Justice. She worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections as a corrections officer in the segregation unit of Gus Harrison Prison in Adrian, MI where she retired after 23 years of dedicated service and made many close friends there during that time. She loved reading and playing scrabble. She had a huge heart and touched the hearts and lives of all she met, and loved her friends and family dearly. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit. She was a beloved and involved member of Church Alive in Palmyra, MI. Kay is preceded in death by; Estel Hess (Father), Mary Hess (Mother) Roger Hess (brother ) and Joshua Sullivan (Grandson). She is survived by her children with Michael Squier; Adam Richman (Jacki Richman), Kimberley Squier, and Michael Squier Jr. (Cara Couch). Also children through marriage with divorcee John Sullivan; Crystal Falk (Matthew Falk), Amaris Kronewitter (James Kronewitter) and Jacob Sullivan (Hannah Sullivan) as well as son-in-law, Jerry Frederick and daughter-in-law Nicole Sharp. Brothers; Richard, Ron, Bill, Roger, Brian Hess and sister Eva Lesher; including their spouses and children. Grandchildren; Jason Richman (son of Adam & Jacki Richman), Logan Cremeans (son of Kim Squier & Anthony Cremeans). As well as step-grandchildren; Christian, Alison, Alayna, Anela, Tylee, Joshua, Jessica, Zach, Blake, Lily, Carter, and McKenzie. As well as many close friends including; Randy Collins, Kim Lavich, Roxanne, and Michelle Damon. We would like to extend our thanks to all first responders and medical professionals at Bixby Hospital who worked hard and did all they could. Gus Harrison for their continued support. The members of Church Alive who have been a constant support and all family, friends and neighbors who have reached out and helped in many ways.
