Charles David Phelps

Charles David Phelps 1957-2016   Charles Phelps, age 59, of Adrian, MI passed peacefully after his brave, but brief battle with pancreatic cancer in his home on October 31, 2016. Charles was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Julian and Callie (Nunnally) Phelps. He married Janine Kirchoff on May 23,1986. Charles worked as a salesman in many different industries, but his favorite job was delivering lost luggage from the airport. Charles was a huge fan of baseball, especially his Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed his dogs, a nice cold beer, pizza, gambling, a good sloppy joe sandwich, vacationing in Cape Cod, and losing at the matching game to his grandson, Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Janine Kirchoff, and his children: Chelsea, Alison, Shelby, Chandler. His beloved grandson, Dalton. His furry children: Lola and Blue. His sister, Kay, and brothers: Julian, Jerry, and Darrell (Bucky). Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, November 5, 2016, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. Geoff Koglin officiating. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
