Carol Louise (Strand) Whelan

Carol Louise (Strand) Whelan, age 67, of Tecumseh, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2015.  She was surrounded by her family.  She was born in Tecumseh on April 21, 1948 to Henry and Betty (Pask) Strand.  Carol was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth/St. Dominic Catholic Parishes.  Her faith and her family were the most important things in her life.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael Whelan and two nephews.  She is survived by her 9 children, David Walker, Norman (Katherine) Walker, Jessica (Gerald) Roles, Archie (Denise) Walker, Michelle (Craig) Ferry, Scottie II (Crystal) Walker, Dominique Walker, Eric (Danielle) Walker and Shawn Walker, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 10 siblings, Madonna, Henry, Sonja, Terrance, Mark, Joann, Marcelle, Tina, Darlene and Mitchell.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Purse Funeral Home at 2959 N. Adrian Hwy., Adrian, MI 49221 .  The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish at 506 N Union St., Tecumseh, MI 49286 with Fr. Daniel Wheeler presiding.  She will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.  Memorial contributions may be made to Carol's children for final expenses.    www.PurseFuneralHome.com.com
