Carl Gumm, Jr.

Carl Gumm, Jr., age 74, of Hillsdale, MI, passed away, January 13, 2017, at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI. He was born September 23, 1942, in Salem, IN, the son of Carl Sr. & Helen (Mobley) Gumm. On August 17, 1992, he married Patricia McVey, she survives. Carl served his country in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Anderson Development in Adrian, MI.  In addition to his wife Patricia Gumm, he is survived by his children, Lisa Kirkendall, Laura (Brendan) Rippetoe, Heather (Derek) Sexton, Cody (Amber) Gumm, Ashley Gumm and Cory Gumm (Makayla Whetstone) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alden Gumm.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Rick Strawcutter officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Osseo, MI.
