Blanche (Detrick) Myers

Blanche Myers 86 of Tecumseh passed away April 29, 2017 at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born June 29, 1930 to John and Mary Detrick of Friendsville, Maryland. August 1951 she married Richard Myers of Findlay, Ohio. After graduating college in 1952, Blanche was employed by Marathon Oil until 1956 when she moved to Tecumseh. She was employed by Tecumseh Products until 1965 when she began her career at Clinton High School teaching Business and Office Practice. She retired from teaching in 1998  and moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1990. Blanche is survived by Richard her loving husband of 65 years; two sons, Jack (Diane) Myers of Rapid City, South Dakota; David (Brenda) Myers, Tecumseh; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one sister. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Tecumseh and a member of The Women of the Moose, Port Charlotte, Florida.Blanche loved camping and travel. She spent many weekends with family at their camp site in Orland, Indiana. She also loved golf, crafts, reading, crossword puzzles and bingo. Cremation has taken place by Purse Funeral Home. Memorial contributions should be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
