Augustine "Vickie" Gretch

Augustine "Vickie" Gretch, age 108, of Tecumseh, formerly of Bad Axe, passed away October 17, 2017.  She was born September 5, 1909, in Detroit, MI the daughter of Franklin and Pauline (Osowski) Masa.  On Nov. 27, 1934 she married John Clarence Gretch at Sacred Heart Parish, Bad Axe.  He preceded her in death in 1991.  Vickie grew up on her parents farm located in Bad Axe, MI on M-53.  Vickie spent her working years employed as a Dietician as well as farming. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Ubly, where she was very active in the Altar Society and baked many cakes.  Vickie is survived by two daughters, Mary Jean (John) Dowling of Onsted, and Eleanor Murphy of Alburquerque, NM;  son, John Anthony (Betty) Gretch of Owendale; 10 granchildren, Stephanie Dowling, Jennifer Dowling, Coleen Dowling-Warriner, Michael Gretch, Christine (Claude) Kolar, Gail Murphy, Dawn Murphy (Guy Sills), April (Joe) Costigan, Todd (Beth) Snay, and Sean (Anna) Murphy; 13 great grandchildren; great great granddaughters, Eva & Evie; sister, Helen Radomski and brother; Edward (Rose) Masa.  In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillian Snay, brother, Felix  and 3 sisters.   A Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:00 P. M. Monday, October 23, 2017 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Ubly, MI with Rev. Fr. Charles Hammond officiating.  Burial will follow at Columbkille Catholic Cemetery, Ubly.  Visitation will be  12:00 P. M.(one hour prior to the service) also on Monday at the church.
