Audrey Mapes

Audrey Mapes, age 83, of Manitou Beach, MI, went home to her Lord, August 6, 2017, at home with her family. She was born April 7, 1934, in Ridgeway Twp, MI, the daughter of George & Glendora (Beevers) Soncrant.  Audrey attended school in Adrian, Michigan where she was a swimmer and softball player.  After graduation, she worked as a medical assistant.  Audrey married Walter Mapes in 1955. They had four children: Linda (David) Calzone, Mark (Terrie) Mapes,  Chris (Dwayne) Mathis, and Gloria (James) Webber. Besides her children, Audrey is survived by her sister, Terrie (Ansen) McClelland,  thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren. Audrey is also survived by her sisters-in-law Myrtle Mapes, Norma Campbell and Carol Mapes as well as her brother-in-law Bill (Becky) Mapes.  Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.   Visitation will be on Wednesday August 9, 2017, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.   Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 10, 2017,  at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11151 US-12 Brooklyn, MI.  Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian, MI.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
