Arthur Acuna, Jr.

Arthur Acuna, Jr., age 54, of Tecumseh, died February 27, 2017 at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  He was born July 17, 1962 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Arturo and Adeline (Moreno) Acuna. They both have preceded him in death.  In 1980, he graduated from Carl Hayden High School, Phoenix, AZ.  Art was a life long mechanic and service representative for high reach equipment.  This career took him all over the country and Mexico.  Art was an avid sports fan of Michigan, Arizona Cardinals, and Detroit Tigers.  He was also a staple of Tecumseh Indians football and Lacrosse games and wrestling matches.  Even when Art wasn't feeling well, he was there for support.  He is survived by the mother of his children, Jennifer; two children, Monica and Isaac; sister. Linda; brother, Steven; and many other relatives in Arizona and California. Also surviving are dear friends who will miss Art's quick wit and sarcasm. He also leaves behind his dear pets, Winston and Stitch. Art also loved his animals and were family to him. Much thanks to Hospice of Lenawee, dear friend Michael Lopez, Sharon Pieh, both Monica and Isaac,  (and "The Squad") who provided excellent care in his last days.  Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Richard E. Burstall officiating. Cremation will follow according to Art's wishes. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to funeral service Friday at  J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
