Amos Hill, age 91, went to be with his Lord on May 11, 2015, after suffering several strokes and a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 1, 1924, in Seminole, Oklahoma, he was born John Amos Barker. His father, Kelsey Barker, passed away when Amos was just 18 months old. Later, he took his stepfather's name, changing his name to Amos Hill. After the death of Kelsey, Mattie Barker married Dewey Gordon Hill. Amos graduated from Strother High School in Seminole, Oklahoma where he served as class president in 1942. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Loraine Hill of Adrian. Also surviving are their children, Carol (Mike) Sackett, Jerry (Joanna) Hill, and Bob (Diana) Hill. Amos had nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Amos was proud of his grandchildren and was a positive role model for his family. Amos is survived by his sister Rev. Dorma (Boyce) Allensworth in Seminole, Oklahoma. Amos started his career working at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma.  Amos retired from Tecumseh Products after 37 years of service. He was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian, First Assembly of God while living in Fort Myers, Florida for 16 years, and Adrian Full Gospel Tabernacle - serving in numerous positions. Amos became an ordained minister, following a long line of ministers in his family, including his stepfather, Dewey Gordon Hill. Amos and his painting partner, Emory Turner painted properties for many people all over Lenawee County for many years. Amos was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Lynn Hill, parents Kelsey Barker, Mattie Hill, and stepfather Dewey Hill. Also, sisters Mavis (Ross) Willis, Maxine (Robert) Attebury, and Ann (William) McElyea, and brother, Shirley (Carolyn) Wilson Hill proceeded him in death.  The family would like to thank Hospice of Lenawee and the many people that have been a blessing to the family with their selfless help and care.
