Josephine J. (Poley) Akens

Josephine J. (Poley) Akens, age 81, formerly of Tecumseh, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2017.   Josephine was born January 20, 1936  in Tecumseh the daughter of Dermont and Esther Poley.  Joyce worked for and retired from Ford Motor Company in Saline Michigan. Most of her life she lived  in Tecumseh, Michigan but retired to Southport, Florida where she was living at the time of her passing. Josephine is survived by her children, son, Terry (Penny) Akens of Navarre, Florida, daughter, Sheryl (Jeff) Behrman of Napoleon, Ohio and daughter, Laura Kent of Southport, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and brother, Dermont Poley Jr.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise.  Joyce chose to return to Tecumseh to be remembered and laid to rest.  Please come help us celebrate her life at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh where visitation will be 1:00-6:00 PM, Monday, September  25, 2017 and funeral services at 11:00 A. M.
